The ultimate goal was to get my 5 must have desk essentials for blogging to work in a small space and still remain organized. My office space is literally the smallest space in this entire house. I did a lot of creative maneuvering to get everything set up so that it was functional for me in my own little way.
5 MUST HAVE DESK ESSENTIALS EVERY BLOGGER NEEDS
Come on in. Sit down and make yourself comfortable and see how I did it!
I’m kind of an organization addict and love for everything to have its space and place. If anything in my space is out of place I just may have a mini inner meltdown. But now I’m just getting off topic, but not really. My desk has to be organized at ALL times. I’m always reaching for different things that I need for them to be right where I put them. So on to my 5 must have desk essentials for blogging.
1. Weekly Planner
I have to plan my week before it even happens. I need a schedule + to do list to stick to, otherwise, I’m like a lost puppy trying to find my way. Not really, but seriously invest in a planner. Having thoughts and ideas floating around in your head is really not the best way to plan your blogging journey. Trust me! I’ve tried but it didn’t work out too well which is why I now write all of my tasks in my planner. Now I have tried a bunch and I do mean a BUNCH, but I can truly recommend a couple. I personally only use my Erin Condren right now as my go-to planner, but that could always change. I also recommend The Simplified Planner, Powersheets, and printables from Oh So Paper Co.
2. Laptop + Phone + Tablet & ALL Chargers
3. Office Supplies
It’s true that you’ll do the majority of your blogging work on your computer. But you’ll also do a lot of your work off of your computer as well. That’s why I keep a ton, well maybe that’s an exaggeration, but a lot of office supplies at my desk. Pens, pencils, tape, stapler, desk organizer, paper clips and washi tape are all my desk essentials for blogging.

4. Notepads + Notecards
Your notepad will become your best friend. It’s good to keep a notepad at your desk and even on your nightstand because it makes it quick and easy for you to jot down new ideas or reminders. Notecards aren’t always considered a desk essential for blogging, but for me they are. I have an inordinate amount thanks to Erin Condren and I like to use them to encourage others and sometimes myself. They’re also great for sending thank you notes to customers or friends.
5. Wall Art
I know I know, it’s not technically a desk essential, but then again maybe it is. Wall art is important because it can be inspiring, encouraging and motivating all at the same time. Struggling to get that blog post written? Stuck on the first chapter of your book? Product description not living up to your expectations? Look up at your wall art and you’ll see those simple reminders of truth that’ll make it easier for you to keep on keeping on. You can use different prints and frames to bring it to life. Don’t be afraid to mix it up every now and then. You know keep it fresh.
