2020 has been a really trying year. It seems as though every time we turn on the news there’s always bad news and it’s so easy to get sucked into the black hole of all that’s going on. While staying in the know is very important to me, I’ve had to impose limits. In this trying time, I’ve had to more than prioritize self-care. And self-care in this season for me has been reading a lot of spiritual and self-development books. This month, I’m reading, You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream by Holley Gerth.
Do you remember when you were a kid and your dreams were limitless? You weren’t thinking about the how, the why or the what — you just dreamed. Good times, right? Well, those times don’t have to be long forgotten because those dreams you have, you should still chase them. In You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream, Holley does a deep dive about just that — what it means to have a God-Sized dream, how to achieve your dream, and how to sustain yourself while you’re in the process of achieving your dream.

I fully expected this book to be full of a bunch of “you can do its” and “just pray and wait on God”, but instead this book gets real. She walks you through the journey of identifying your God-sized dream, overcome your fear, helps you stop self-sabotage, and encourages you not to quit when things go wrong.
What I’ve Learned So Far about god-sized dreams
God-sized dreams are so much bigger than anything you can do by yourself. Your God-sized dream is meant to bring your soul joy. We all have things we’re afraid to tell anyone, hopes that feel silly, dreams that seem like dares and quiet longings of the heart that get especially loud sometimes.
If you need a little focus, if you need a little encouragement, motivation or direction, I think you’ll really enjoy this book. I’ll come back with an update at the end of the month to let you know all of my takeaways from the book and if I’ve discovered my God-sized dream.
