5 Tools Every Creative Entrepreneur Needs In Their Toolbox

Running a business as a solopreneur is a lot of work! If you’re a creative entrepreneur, you’re a business owner and you’re more than likely tech support, customer service, social media management, copywriter, strategist — the list goes on, right?!

As a creative entrepreneur, it’s important to strategically and efficiently manage your business. This often includes using tools and systems that sometimes help us to automate one area of our business while we’re working in other areas.

As a creative entrepreneur myself, I’ve compiled a list of the top 5 tools every creative entrepreneur needs to have in their toolbox. These are tools and systems that I personally use daily to run my business.

1. tailwind

I use Tailwind to promote my website (and blog)  content on Pinterest. This has grown my website traffic tremendously. Pinterest is the best-kept secret when it comes to website traffic, and Tailwind is my favorite tool to streamline it.

You can try Tailwind free with all its features and up to 100 pins on Pinterest. Plus, there’s no time limit!

2. canva

Canva is my favorite! Canva is a free design software for any and everybody. With Canva, you can design logos, websites, Pinterest pins, social media graphics, branded presentations, branded PDF workbooks, and more.

It’s free to use, but they do offer an affordable paid plan that is very useful for creative entrepreneurs. The paid plan offers more features, an easy-to-use Brand Kit (quickly apply your brand colors, fonts, and styles to any design), and access to their stock library of over 75 million stock photos.

3. convertkit

Convertkit is my favorite email marketing platform for a few reasons: it’s easy to use, it allows beautifully minimalist designed email campaigns, and it integrates seamlessly with WordPress (and Squarespace). Trying to grow your email list? Convertkit is definitely the email marketing platform you need!

4. google workspace

Google Docs is free, simple, and easy enough to use. It is a great free option for creative entrepreneurs that are just starting out.

I personally opted for Google Workspace, which is the cloud-based business version of Google Drive. This is a paid product and offers a range of functionality for teams, including the ability to manage multiple accounts and email addresses under your domain name.

5. Dubsado

Dubsado is the best CRM that I’ve used in years. It keeps all of your canned emails, forms, contracts, proposals, and invoices, and allows you to easily send them to your clients with the click of a button.

You’re also able to create and implement your workflows inside of Dubsado. It’s easy to simplify and automate your interactions and tasks you do repeatedly for your clients.

Those are the top 5 tools every creative entrepreneur needs in their toolbox to help streamline your business. Just because I use it does not make it the best or the one you should use. I suggest you put together a toolbox that is best for your specific needs, and I want to be as transparent as possible– usually, the reason I use a certain tool at this time is that it’s just the one I selected first.
